About Fresh Start Farms

Fresh Start Farms is a multi-farmer collective of participants (and recent graduates) of the Organization for Refugee & Immigrant Success (ORIS)’s incubator farmer training program. There are over 20 farmer entrepreneurs representing the Somali Bantu, Bhutanese, Burundi, and Congolese communities, as well as other ethnic groups. These growers sell through a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) share program, at SNAP/Granite State Market Match accessible farm stands throughout Manchester, at farmers’ markets, through the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program, and through some local wholesale channels.

Produce is grown with soil health, environmental well being, and consumer happiness in mind. Fresh Start Farms producers are currently growing at sites in Dunbarton, NH and Concord, NH.  Produce is grown spray-free with integrated pest management practices and culturally-appropriate growing techniques.

Fresh Start Farms is a project of the non-profit Organization for Refugee and Immigrant Success (ORIS), located in Manchester, New Hampshire. 100% of the profits from the produce sales go back to the new American farmers.
